Phoenix, Arizona
AJ Spatz leads the Phoenix, Arizona Dads in the Making group, meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month from 6:30-8:30pm MST. AJ, a licensed counselor, enjoys photography and exploring the Arizona trails, especially in the forests of Northern Arizona, alongside his wife, Brittany. After completing their first round of IVF, they are overjoyed to share they are currently expecting a baby in Summer 2024 after over five years of trying to grow their family. In his year with Dads in the Making, AJ’s leadership stems from a desire to help men grow in faith and become pillars for their families. Through his experiences, AJ has deepened his own personal relationship with Jesus and with his wife, and he aims to share this spiritual journey with men as they move closer to Jesus, as they thrive in their own lives, as they lead as husbands, and as they grow as Dads in the Making.
Fort Worth, Texas
Brian Marin leads the Forth Worth (NRH) group on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 6:00-8:00pm CST. The Lord led Brian to his wife, Kim, shortly after Brian surrendered his life to Jesus. Kim was Brian’s son Caiden’s children’s pastor at their local church, where they met. Shortly after getting married, Brian and Kim began the journey to grow their family. They experienced two late-term miscarriages, but their faith in the Lord never wavered. God remained faithful, and in November 2023, their miracle baby, Wonder Joy, was born. Brian is a roofer by trade and owns his own business alongside Kim. He never turns down an opportunity to spend time on the water fishing, whether on a lake, in a creek, the flats in saltwater, or deep sea in the ocean. Brian’s heart is to provide a safe place for men to become who The Creator made them to be, to dig up ungodly beliefs and discard them, while declaring God’s word over them. He is dedicated to helping Dads in the Making grow abundantly.
Virtual Group 1
Colby Harries leads Virtual group #1 that meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month from 7:00-9:00pm CST. Prior to joining his wife, Caroline, in full-time ministry, Colby worked in law enforcement and accounting. Colby is a fitness enthusiast with a passion for the great outdoors and traveling with Caroline. They have been believing for children for more than a decade. In the summer of 2022, Colby was diagnosed with cancer but miraculously overcame it with supernatural protection and healing. In the years since launching Dads in the Making in 2023, he has focused on growing community and friendships with men while building on foundational core values from the Bible. Men who join a group will be strengthened and encouraged with the knowledge of God’s good plan for them, their marriage, and their family.
Virtual Group 2
Henry Isenberg co-leads the Tuesday virtual group on the 1st and 3rd weeks of each month at 8:00 pm CST. He lives in Olympia, Washington, and works as a commercial electrician. Henry enjoys baseball, board games, photography, and traveling with his wife, Mary. Mary also leads an in-person Moms in the Making group. In January 2024, while navigating Mary’s infertility diagnosis, they faced an unexpected complication during a procedure that left Mary bed-ridden for 8 months. They are still trying to grow their family while trusting God and believing for the babies God promised them. A fun fact about Henry and Mary: they spent 5 months in Switzerland and a month in Thailand as part of a couples discipleship training school with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). With a heart for blessing marriages, Henry is excited to walk alongside other men facing infertility.
Daniel Jost co-leads the Tuesday virtual group on the 1st and 3rd weeks of each month at 8:00 pm CST. Daniel Jost lives near Seattle with his wife, Nikky, and their daughter. After four years of infertility, multiple fertility treatments, and two rounds of IVF, Daniel and Nikky welcomed their miracle daughter in November 2025. Their journey deepened Daniel’s faith and gave him a passion to encourage other men walking through the challenges of infertility and family-building.
Daniel works in the technology industry and enjoys reading, video games, and continually learning new things. He is actively involved in his local church community and is passionate about helping men grow as husbands, fathers, and followers of Christ. Daniel believes God used his family’s journey to strengthen his character, deepen his dependence on the Lord, and prepare him to walk alongside others with compassion and understanding.
Daniel and Nikky have been married since 2019 and are committed to building a Christ-centered home. Through Dads in the Making, Daniel desires to create a safe space where men can find encouragement, authentic community, biblical truth, and the support they need while navigating their own family-building journeys.
Virtual Group 3
Chris Cook leads the Monday night group on the 1st and 3rd week of each month from 6:00-8:00pm CST. His wife, Lindsay, leads two Moms in the Making groups, one in person and one virtual. Together, they have a passion for pouring into children and that has led them to become foster parents. They believe that it is their duty to take care of the widows and orphans, and foster care is a place where that can begin. Chris serves on the deacon board at their church and has led a life group for years. They enjoy playing board games and camping, and Chris loves watching any sport. He works at a financial institution as a compliance officer as well as working at a local foster agency part time as a financial coordinator. He is a certified sports official and enjoys officiating local youth sports. They have one son, Emmett and hope to grow their family soon through both a miracle pregnancy and adopting through the foster care system. Chris hopes to encourage men as they grow stronger in their faith and marriages.
